Capturing the action and emotion

From the adrenaline of a last-second goal to the sheer determination on a swimmer’s face on the starting block, sport has a unique way of captivating people. For me, the magic of sport lies in those split-second moments that tell stories of grit, resilience, and triumph.

I believe that each image is a powerful narrative, freezing moments that reveal the passion, teamwork, and spirit behind the game. I’m drawn to the challenge of capturing the speed and intensity of the sport, as well as the quiet moments that often go unseen.

Having started my photography business in 2019, I’ve learnt to find and freeze the moments that matter - from the goal celebrations to the sheer power and grace in swimming.

Sport teaches children about teamwork, resilience, and setting goals. My photos are snapshots of personal achievement and moments of pride both for the children and the families cheering them on. When children see photos of themselves in action, it builds their confidence, showing them they’re capable and part of something bigger. My photos also provide parents with a way to look back on and remember these defining moments in their children’s lives.

My sports photography journey began as one of those parents, standing on the sideline cheering on my son and his first grassroots football team. I wanted photos of his sporting milestones. My mobile phone just couldn’t capture the sort of photos that I wanted. So I started to take my DSLR camera. The other parents (including the opposition), wanted photos too. Within just a few months, I was photographing grassroots football tournaments, and matches for the Nuneaton Borough U18s and first team.

Fast forward a few years, and I’ve worked with a number of football academies, grassroots teams, The Non-League Paper, as well as supplying commercial images for marketing purposes. I also enjoy photographing swimming galas and meets across the West Midlands, including the Sandwell Aquatics Centre, and the Alan Higgs Leisure Centre in Coventry.

I’m also a member of the steering group that set up the newly formed Nuneaton Town FC - working as part of the media and marketing team. As well as being one of the club’s photographers, I built and manage the development of the Town’s website https://www.nuneatontownfc.co.uk.

I don’t charge anything to photograph an event. I rely on photo sales to run my business. Feel free to get in touch if you’d like sports photos.
