Coventry Copsewood FC 0-5 Nuneaton Town FC
Fortunately for Nuneaton Town, Coventry Copsewood missed a few early chances and couldn’t capitalise on their pressure and the slope advantage. On 31 minutes, Aaron Williams low cross into the box was met by Louis Baker’s foot, sliding in to put the Town ahead at the break (0-1).
Just 3 minutes into the second half, Nuneaton Town had doubled their lead. Danico Johnson was dragged down in the opposition’s box and Loyiso Recci converted the resulting penalty (0-2).
Any chance of a Copsewood comeback seemed to be even less likely after Gordon’s late challenge on Louis Baker led to his second yellow card and reduced the hosts to 10 men.
Impressive Kaden May scored arguably the goal of the game, weaving and winding his way into the goal area and curling his shot past the Copsewood keeper and in off the far post (0-3).
Losing by 3 goals, and down to 10 men, Josh Whitehouse’s introduction caused more problems for Copsewood. Eager to get on the scoresheet himself, Whitehouse had a couple of quick chances before making his mark, thanks to an assist from James Spruce (0-4).
4 minutes later, Spruce completed the scoring firing into the roof of the net after his through ball to Whitehouse had been blocked. 0-5 to the Town.
An enjoyable game to photograph.
