Stratford Sharks: Mike Wardle Sprint Event

My swimming photography has taken me to some fantastic pools. The Abbey Stadium in Redditch was another such venue that I managed to visit on Saturday.

I'd been invited by Stratford Sharks to photograph their Mike Wardle sprint event on Saturday afternoon.

The Abbey Stadium is an ideal venue for a sports photographer! the large windows behind the spectator area fill the pool with light. The 6 lanes also means that it's easier to photograph swimmers on the far side.

For safeguarding reasons, I never publish photos of the swimmers. This can make it difficult to advertise my services.

A lot of my referrals have come from previous galas. Participating clubs have seen my work and have asked me to photograph their event. I find it intriguing to see where this will take me.

Photographing Coalville Swimming Club's gala, has led me to Coventry, Nuneaton, Sandwell, Wolverhampton, and Redditch.
